I'm a pensioner as a Special Education Teacher for Learning Disabilities in secondary school. I've been doing the freelancing jobs since 2000 until today (which now, they called Virtual Assistant VA).

My mentor/bestie, Ms Evelyn Gan, shared and sent me the details and links for today's webinar and all the juicy details (Sunday 30/10/2025). She called me to further shared the details for 101NEXT. Without further ado, I immediately click the link that she shared and fill all those related details. Previously, I've joined Coach Niel Tan online webinars a few times. So, I know that I'm with the right Coach and with the right crowds.

I hope to learn a few tricks to enhance my VA services. Not forgetting to do my networking with my fellow group mates and also with others. Finger cross!!

For most of my life, I have been guided by a simple but powerful belief: every individual deserves the chance to learn, grow, and shine in their own unique way. This belief carried me through nearly 15 years as a Special Education Teacher for Learning Disabilities at the secondary level—a role that shaped not only my career, but also my heart.

My educational journey has been anything but linear, and each step has added a new layer to who I am today. I began with a Pre-Commerce Certificate, which opened the door to further studies and sparked my interest in understanding how people and systems work. From there, I pursued a Diploma in Estate Management (DEM) and later a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Development (BScHRD), each offering new perspectives and expanding my professional horizons.

It was only after completing these qualifications that I discovered my true calling in education. This led me to earn a Diploma in Education (DipEd) specialising in Learning Disabilities—a milestone that awakened my passion for empowering young disabilities learners and supporting their unique pathways to success. Each stage of my academic journey has shaped the many roles I’ve taken on since, giving me the foundation to grow, adapt, and serve with purpose.

Although I retired from formal teaching, my love for meaningful work never faded.

In fact, my freelancing journey began as early as the year 2000, long before remote work became a widespread norm. Over the years, freelancing allowed me to explore different industries, sharpen my adaptability, and connect with clients from various walks of life. Today, I continue to embrace the freelance lifestyle—combining it with my role as a Virtual Assistant (VA), where I get to support, organise, and create value for others around the world.

Why I Joined the Digital Builder Program

Stepping into retirement didn’t mean stepping away from purpose. I joined the Digital Builder Program because I see it as an exciting new chapter—one where I can harness technology, creativity, and digital tools to build something meaningful beyond the classroom. This program aligns with my lifelong passion for learning while giving me the space to transform my experiences into digital solutions that can help others.

What I Hope to Achieve

Through this program, I aim to expand my digital skill set, strengthen my online presence, and create sustainable opportunities that blend my background in education, human development, and freelancing. More importantly, I hope to inspire others—especially lifelong learners and career shifters—to embrace change and explore new possibilities at any age.

My journey may have started in a classroom, but it continues to evolve. And with each new step, I’m reminded that learning never stops—and neither do I
